Here is some more "Action-Adventure Theater" excitement for your personal edification. This is Michael Dudikoff's hilarious and seemingly drugged 1989 introduction to the Urban Warriors installment of "Action-Adventure Theater," a theoretical line of crappy direct-to-video Cannon exploitation movies that, as far as we know, lasted four titles: The Bronx Executioner, Bridge to Hell, Urban Warriors, and Cross Mission. Much like the non-Cannon "Ninja Theater" videos with Sho Kosugi, Dudikoff does not appear in the movies, which are all Italian pick-ups.

For those who missed the intro to The Bronx Executioner when I posted it about a year and a half ago, here's the link.

(Both these files are in Windows Media format, dial-up users can right-click and "save target as..." to get the files and play them after download.)

The forgotten Jaclyn Smith thriller Deja Vu is set for release on DVD on June 1. I watched this thing a while ago and found parts of it funny, Shelley Winters is in it too. It cuts ineptly between modern times and 19th century London to tell the story of a fateful romance.

Pre-order The Apple on DVD here!

Our friend Marc at the Nuart in West L.A., who is one of the coolest guys and friends of Cannon, reports on various items about the upcoming Apple DVD coming on August 24th from MGM:

"For the most part, it is a bare-bones item, just movie and trailer. No word as to whether it will be stereo or mono or if there will be language options.

"But I can tell you there will be one neat feature.there will be a "jukebox" option on the DVD, which when activated, will play five of the songs from the movie in sequence, perfect for parties. (The SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK DVD has a similar function) I was consulted on which five songs would be best. I can't recall which five I suggested, but it's safe to say that "BIM" and "Speed" will be in that batch. Oh, and if it sells enough copies, they will consider doing a bigger special edition later on. So everybody buy one, and make your friends buy one too!

"See you Memorial Day weekend. All hail BIM!"

Also, Marc is looking to project some fresh Cannon trailers during his Memorial Day Apple show. If anyone out there has 35mm Cannon trailers in their possession (and I know some of you do because you've emailed me about it), please contact me at patrick@cohaagen.com and I'll get you in touch with the right folks to see your Cannon trailer projected just right.
